Collection: Transport
The transport sector has a multitude of cleaning requirements, whether it’s detailing the inside of vehicles and/or the stations they are housed, and the levels they need to be cleaned too – whether that’s for an aesthetically pleasing finish or a deep clean to hospital standards.
Dry Steam Machines are used in cleaning the transport sector in 3 main ways (although there are plenty more uses):
TRANSPORT HUBS | TRANSPORTATION INTERIORS | CAR WASHING & VALETING |
Transport Hubs & Exterior
Hub Interiors
All airports, bus, train, tram stations, platforms, car parks and concourses should be clean to prevent infections spreading and visually appealing for their users.
Within the hubs themselves cleaning teams have to keep on top of public facilities and high touch point areas. Self check in monitors and handrails, for instance within stations and airports can be home to over 1 million CFU (Colony Forming Units per square inch) of bacteria, on average it's still ghastly with over 250,000 CFU. This does drop down to 21,000+ CFUs on bench arms*.

Exterior Spaces
2 of the most common and unsightly exterior cleaning tasks that cleaning teams have to deal with are gum (be it bubble or chewing) and graffiti removal.
This can be costly and time consuming - typically a piece of gum councils estimate cost well over 10p and takes well over 10seconds to remove.
Using our GumBusters® dry steam cleaning machines you can remove a piece of gum in 6 seconds at the cost of only 4p!
This is why Greater Anglia, Northern Rail, West Midlands Network and many more, have taken to using our battery powered gum removal machines the GB1 and GB Eco.
Transportation Interiors
Whether it's a bus, tram, train, or plane, their hand rails, steps, steering wheels, seats and everything else need to cleaning and sanitising ready for their next journey.
The best time to do deep cleaning is during their 'MOT' where they get repaired, refurbished and serviced. Steam is for cleaning interiors as it is safe to use on every vehicle surface, including seating cover materials and as our steam is 'dry' it won't affect electrical components.
Our Steam & Vac Pro can clean carpets and seats on rail in only 45mins, and are routinely deployed by SouthWest Trains.
Our easy to carry SF Compact can clean the inside of a bus to a sanitised level in 30mins, which First Bus made the most of.
Car Washing & Valeting
Car Interiors
Using our Robby Steam & Vac is ideal for cleaning car interiors, combining all the tools you'll need into one, and an array of accessories too.
The high pressure dry steam-
- Removes sticky residue from cup holders,
- Cleans dirt from door trims and jambs,
- Blows dust out the dashboards and ventilation system,
- Gets rid of grime from hard to reach areas on the console,
- Lift stains and grease out of the upholstery,
- Dissolves salt marks out of carpets.
The built in vacuum then safely removes all the lifted soiling, dust and dirt.
Exterior Spaces
The powerful Twist Eco has been designed specifically for car washing. The maximum 9bar of dry steam uses less water than a high pressure washer and is more effective in removing oil and grease from the most awkward of nooks and crannies from under the hood or around the wheels. Not only that, but it is much safer being used by electronics and sensors.
Using the Twist Eco with the provided squeegee on windows and windscreens leaves a touch dry, streak free finish, without the use of any harmful chemicals.
